Privacy Policy

Fluent ("we") lets you practise languages in live video conversations with AI tutors. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
• Learning preferences: the languages you study, your level, goal, base language, chosen tutor and how you'd like to be addressed.
• Conversations: during a call your camera and microphone are streamed to our video provider so the tutor can see and hear you. We store the text transcript of each conversation, the corrections and words shown during the call, and the summary we generate afterwards. We do not record or store video or audio.
• Usage: call times and durations, used to enforce daily limits.

How we use it

To run your conversations, show corrections, write your post-call summary, let your tutor remember previous sessions, enforce daily limits, and keep the service secure. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Service providers

We rely on these providers to operate Fluent, each processing data only on our behalf:

• Supabase: accounts and database.
• Tavus (and its video infrastructure provider Daily): the live video tutor, speech recognition and conversation memory.
• Anthropic: generating post-call summaries from transcripts.
• Google: optional sign-in with your Google account.
• Netlify: hosting.

Google user data

If you sign in with Google we receive only your name, email address and profile picture, and use them solely to create and identify your Fluent account. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and all associated data (including your tutors' memory of you) at any time by emailing hacmontal@gmail.com.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to object to its processing. Contact us at the address above and we'll respond within 30 days.

Children

Fluent is not intended for children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for material changes, let you know by email.
